Star Sighting
We sat directly behind Ben Stiller and his wife, Christine Taylor, at Arclight Saturday night. (We saw Millions, which was really good by the way.) They walked in just as the lights were going down. Arclight has pre-assigned seating, and their seats ended up being pretty much in the dead center of the theater. When Christine noticed this, she said, "Are we sure we want to sit here?" Ben shrugged his shoulders like, "Why not?" and she said, "Right next to people? When there's a whole empty theater?" (Actually, there was no one sitting directly next to them - the closest person was a couple of seats over - but maybe she preferred being all incognito in the back or something.)
"Yeah, why not?" Ben said, shrugging his shoulders again. I thought that was cool. So they sat right in front of us. They snuggled a little during the movie and kept leaning in to whisper to each other, but not in an annoying way. It was actually kind of sweet.
After the movie, we had to stop by the desk to get our parking validated, so we saw them walk out together, and guess who was with them? Vince Vaughn. He definitely had not been sitting with them during the movie, so I wonder if they just happened to bump into each other or if they had gone to the movies together but sat apart. Hm.
Vince was with some nonfamous guy who kind of hung back and smiled uncomfortably while Vince cracked jokes to Ben and Christine, who laughed heartily at whatever he was saying.
Man, Vince Vaughn is TALL. And wrinkly. He has not aged well. And I had such a crush on him in "Swingers"! God, he was hot in that movie. Or maybe I just liked the asshole character he played. I tended to crush on asshole types back then.
Anyway. So yeah. Top billing from "Dodgeball" at Arclight Saturday night. Trip out.
