OK, two posts in one day? Pigs must be flying.

Anyway, I wanted to tell you something very cool: I learned the origin of the word "sundae" yesterday.

See, in the early 1900s, people were loving ice cream sodas. I mean, LOVING them. A scoop of ice ice cream topped with soda water, chocolate syrup and whipped cream was like, THE thing to drink.

People craved them. It got to the point where some puritanistic folks started to think, "These are so good, they must be bad. Like, possibly, evil." It was widely believed that cravings for soda were like cravings for alcohol. Eeeevil. Soon, ice cream sodas were banned on Sunday.

Some soda jerk in Wisconsin or wherever (I can't remember exactly)wondered, "How can I make money on Sunday now that ice cream sodas are banned?" He decided to make ice cream sodas, but without the soda. He put a scoop of ice cream in a cup, covered it with chocolate syrup and whipped cream and called it a "sundae."

Don't you feel enlightened? I know I did.

Oh, did you know that already? Sorry.
