I have a few meaty entries brewing, but no time to write (end of the month - blaaahhhh!).

I read most of Eats, Shoots and Leaves in Border's while D and I waited for our movie to start Saturday night (ArcLight, Fahrenheit 911). I really liked it. The author, Lynne Truss, has a terrifically biting sense of humor. Who knew there were so many snarky things to say about grammar?

There's a lengthy section on one of the most heated topics for grammar geeks everywhere, commas. Ms. Truss's final comma rule? "Don't use commas like a stupid person." Bwaaaah!!

Did you know that Gertrude Stein thought commas were "servile"? She never used them. And Peter Carey wrote an entire book without using a single comma. He even won the Booker Prize for it.

Is anyone still awake?
