I'd been searching for quite a long time for a good chocolate chip cookie recipe. I wanted to try something other than the old tried and true Tollhouse. I tried several (even the famous Neiman Marcus recipe) before I came across THE perfect one, courtesy of Alton Brown. I like my cookies crisp and not overly chewy, and Alton's recipe (called "The Thin") is perfect. If you try them, don't make them on a rainy or humid day - they won't turn out nearly as crisp. They'll be somewhat thin, but more on chewy side.
