Bookmarks.

I made these bookmarks for Christmas gifts this year. I bought some large beads and spacers from the bead store and strung them on 24-gauge beading wire. (In the future, I'll use 22-gauge wire because 24 gauge is a little flimsy.) I twisted the top of the wire around and around in a mini spring and pinched it closed. Then I took some ribbon, strung it through the spring and tied a knot at the end. Easy as pie. The ribbon goes inside the book, and the charm hangs "charmingly" down the spine.

They were a big hit. April said she thought they'd even be pretty as necklaces. Neato idea! I think I'll definitely make one (with some adjustments) soon.
