For fun, let's see how many cliches I can fit into this entry:
Last week was a whirlwind of activity. I was such a busy little bee, I thought I'd drive myself crazy. As you may recall, I thought my week was going to be packed to the gills every single day, but I was pleased as punch to discover that my doctor's appointment was not last Thursday, as I originally thought, but is in fact, this Thursday. I also thought I was supposed to have dinner with my dad that day. Apparently I do not have a memory like an elephant, because somehow or another I had lost track of the what week it was. Yay. I was free as a bird to watch the Survivor premiere. And what a premiere it was! Right down to this season's immunity idol, which is a skull (not a real one, I bet) impaled upon a spear.
Unforeseen circumstances caused me to remain in O.C. Saturday day and most of Saturday night. Both JP and Dbelieve that I am conspiring against them to never allow them to meet. That is a pack of lies.
Sunday day was hell on earth. D and I arose early to begin our hunt for draperies, area rugs, a new kitchen light fixture and an office mat. It was like an oven outside. You could practically fry an egg on the sidewalk. We went to Ikea, and man, it was a jungle out there. Everyone and their mother was there.
Besides that, we couldn't agree on anything. If he said black, I said white. It was like that all the live-long day. It was hard for me to argue with him, because although I will be living with him, we have not yet tied the knot. Thus, technically it is still his home sweet home, and not mine. He is spending a pretty penny on these furnishings, and I haven't spent one thin dime, so I feel like it's not my place to force my opinion on him. Anyway, all's well that ends well, because as luck would have it after much debate we ended up finding some pretty nice drapes and a very nice light fixture. We could not, however, find rugs to suit both of our tastes. Alas, next weekend we will go back to the drawing board.
Whew, that was more difficult than I thought.
In other news, D's friend Rob won an Emmy last night. We saw him on TV and everything. He writes for the Daily Show. Ahhh... I am only three people removed from Jon Stewart. Sigh.
